  Stopped in randomly today as I was in the area picking up some equipment. I ordered the John's Turkey on a small sub. The portions are amazing the sandwich was really good and packed with flavor. The bread was on point as well soft and held the sandwich together perfectly.
  
  The service was great I cant wait to come back and try the pastrami sandwich next.

  Located at Lassen and Topanga, there are a bunch of fast casual joints to choose from here. Country Deli and Cupid's Hot Dogs are my usual spots when in the area but Pockets had great reviews so I gave them a shot. The lady working the counter is super friendly and welcoming. I assume she is an owner and the other guests were all having warm conversations with her. They seem to have a loyal following.
  
  There are maybe 6 small tables and they do a brisk takeout business. The menu is mostly sandwiches and, by the name, they specialize in pita sandwiches. I tried a chicken cheesesteak sandwich on a roll. Served with grilled mushrooms and onions, it was piping hot and super fresh. A pretty good sandwich and the large size was definitely a belly buster. Fresh and hot shoestring fries with a heavy dose of seasoned salt were also quite good. They would not be good for takeout as they would lose their heat fast. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 because of the amazing service.

  Ordered a Cobb salad with no ham. Arrived with ham. Their deli meats are packed with sodium. First and last time.

  One of my favorite sandwiches to get!! First off i have been coming here for years. i know it's next to jersey mikes, another good sub place, but give this place a try. The owners are so beyond friendly and caring. They remember my entire family and always ask how they are doing.
  
  Onto the food. The fries are amazing. i recommend ordering them no matter what! I love these fries so well seasoned and tasty. I normally get the turkey sandwich, which I cannot get tired of. My mom gets the salads that she always orders because they're favorite.
  
  I honestly haven't tried a lot on their menu but they have a lot of food options and i really recommend coming here.

  This update is really hard for me to say, as the food is really good and they are so nice there and I have been a loyal customer since 2006.
  
  However,  I cannot tolerate a place serving food with unsanitary methods.
  
  1). I ordered French fries,  the lady handling the money at the register went to the kitchen and after the fries were scooped into the basket she must have thought there was too much as she grabbed bunch with her bare hands and threw them back in the fry bin.  I did not touch the fries- straight to the trash.
  
  2).  Same lady goes into kitchen to chop something on the cutting board after taking money from customer.  
  
  3). Same lady handed me a fork as she was holding the part that goes into my mouth.
  
  This lady is very sweet, and the chef/owner is awesome - but I cannot eat here again due to this.
